The trail goes out and back through the forest, taking you towards Montchavin (Plan Bois) with lovely views of the Beaufortain massif and Mont Blanc.
The path starts from Plagne Bellecôte, just across from the P1 underground car park. Take the lift opposite Bellecôte tourist office down to the car park then walk out to the road and over to the other side to find the start of the trail.
If you arrive on the resort bus from Plagne Centre, you shoud get off at the "Les Frasses" stop.
The path goes down for about 500 m then divides: take the right-hand path signposted "Les Frasses and Plan Bois" for about 50 min, then go straight on through the forest at the second junction, still heading for Plan Bois (1hr35 from Bellecôte). It is about a 6 km walk to Plan Bois and the same distance to walk back.
After the exercise, there are several altitude restaurants where you can find a comforting meal (open or not depending on the period).
There is no bus service from Montchavin / Les Coches or Plan Bois, so you will have to walk back. As this route goes out and back on the same path, you can turn around at any point.
In summer, there are also cyclists on mountain bikes and electric mountain bikes on the trail.
