But who is Saint Agatha? Why did she become the patron saint of ski instructors and mountain guides? You’ll find all the answers by taking the guided tour of Montchavin!

The ski instructors of Montchavin-Les Coches put on a show in honor of their patron saint. Next up is an event you won’t want to miss: the blessing of the instructors’ skis by a bishop who learned to ski in Montchavin.

The tradition continues, and every first Wednesday in February, Saint Agatha is celebrated in our resort.

Starting at 3 p.m. on the main street:
* Wood carving (3 p.m. to 7 p.m.)
* Walking stick making (3 p.m. to 6 p.m.)
* Craft market
* Wooden games (3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
* “Cocktail des Montagnes” brass band parade (3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.)

From 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.: Guided tour of the village of Montchavin by FACIM (Free)
From 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.: Mass at the Sainte Agathe Chapel celebrated by Monsignor Verny, Archbishop of Chambéry

Starting at 6:15 p.m. on the Montchavin snowfront:
* Brass band
* Giant illuminated puppets
* Torchlight parade
* Blessing of the skis and instructors
* Tasting of local products
* Fireworks
