Discover the film The Madonna, a journey through the Mont Blanc massif, between peaks, history, and adventure.
The Madonna
Lucien Boucansaud and Guillaume Pierrel, climbers and guides from Chamonix, set out to visit the seven Madonnas placed on various peaks of the Mont Blanc massif. Straddling the borders of France, Switzerland, and Italy, the two friends journey back in time to an era when the mountains still held their mysteries.
The traverse begins in Courmayeur, from where the climbers reach the Virgin of the Aiguille Noire du Peuterey via the Borelli hut. They continue to the Black Madonna of the Tour Ronde, passing by the Torino hut, then to the Virgin of the Dent du Géant, from where they descend by paraglider. They continue by tandem bike up the Italian Val Ferret to ascend Mont Dolent on ski-mountaineering, where another Madonna awaits, before tackling the statues on the Petit Clocher du Portalet, the Aiguille du Petit Dru, and the Aiguille du Grépon, finally returning to the valley floor by paraglider.
A journey through the Mont Blanc massif and its heritage, featuring contributions from Catherine Destivelle, Etienne Klein, and Mario Colonel.
