Turin is also a great city for shopping, with 18 kilometres of arcades dating from the 16th century, originally built to protect the royal courtiers as they walked.
You can also make the most of your day in Turin to stroll through the lovely squares and streets of the historic city centre: Piazza Castello, Piazza Carlo Felice, Via Roma, or to visit the Palazzo Madama, the Egyptian Museum "Museo Egizio" (the world's largest Egyptian museum after the one in Cairo), or the Mole Antonelliana, a former synagogue which now houses the fabulous Museum of Cinema and offers a breathtaking view of the city from the top of its 167 metre height (a fully glazed lift goes up and down to the top of the building).
