Xplore Festival - Talk: In the Land of Mountaineering in the Age of Global Warming
In the face of global warming, the mountains of tomorrow are already taking shape… But what will they look like?
Monday 26 October 2026 from 6.30 pm.
This summer, heat waves, extreme heat, and drought reached record levels: Is this already the new normal for our future? At high altitudes, what changes does this portend for landscapes, glaciers, and flora and fauna? And for outdoor enthusiasts—whether mountaineers or hikers—what does the future hold?
To discuss these issues, representatives from the Vanoise National Park, the “Label Terre d’alpinisme,” and mountain professionals will gather around the table. The discussion will be moderated by a journalist.
A complimentary aperitif will be served after the session.
