"Balancier et Compagnie" with Violeta Cruz and the Orchestre de Savoie

This research is part of her definition of music: any element or object that produces sound is part of the musical world, like a walking stick tapping on the ground or raindrops hitting a window. Out of her imagination came the pendulum, a moving percussion instrument. There are no sticks to play it with, just everyday objects (a ping-pong ball, screws, nuts, etc.) that create silence and sound, balance and imbalance.
The play explores the language of music, creating a dialogue between the pendulum, played by percussionist Guy-Loup Boisneau, and two bowed string instruments, a violin and a viola. The programme also includes short classical and contemporary pieces (Villa-Lobos, Oesterle, Bartok).
