Hiking itinerary : Les Coches via La Pierra

A hike under the fir trees on a wide road leads to the ruins of "La Pierra" (explanatory panel). Continuing along this route, you can discover the "montagnettes" (small cottages) with a breathtaking view over the valley, some of which have been renovated.

Itinerary from Montchavin
1/ At the entrance to Montchavin (roundabout), take the sidewalk along the road.
2/ At the end of the staircase, turn right and you'll come to a stop sign. Cross the road and you'll find yourself in the parking lot, which you'll follow until you come to the entrance to the Pierra trail.
3/ Go past "La Pierra" along the forest track.
4/ After a slight descent, stop at the sign "Entrée ouest de la Pierra" and turn left up the wide track.
5/ At the 2nd well-marked bend, continue right for a short descent to reach the Chalet du Pantier.
6/ Follow the road up on your left to Praz Salvard, fork left, cross the hamlet, which is not inhabited in winter, and head towards Les Coches to reach the Orgère parking lot.
7/ From here, it takes 10 minutes to reach the center of Les Coches. To return to Montchavin, take the Coches telebufette and gondola.
