Logo famille + Facing Mont-Blanc, Montchavin - Les Coches is an ideal vacation destination for families, who are pampered with the "Famille Plus" label. The site is spread over two levels: the village of Montchavin, at an altitude of 1250m, and that of Les Coches at 1450m. The two sites are linked, summer and winter alike, by the Coches gondola.

Montchavin has retained its Savoyard village feel: chalets adorned in wood and stone, a working farm, a chapel, a pedestrian village center... Discover Montchavin's rich heritage on a visit to the farm or a nocturnal tour of the village.

Les Coches and its residences are just two turns from the Vanoise Express, the emblematic cable car of the Paradiski® ski area. A skier's paradise, Montchavin-Les Coches is ideal for après-ski, with its bar-restaurants, cinema... If you're in the mood for relaxation, push open the door ofEspace Paradisio, the site's aquatic and wellness complex.

For a family holiday

A kids’ ski garden, a toboggan run, a beginners’ ski area… many of the installations are specifically for children so they can discover the joys of winter sports. Older children can try telemark skiing or discover the Paradiski area.

There is a choice of accommodation, with chalets, apartments and a camp / caravan site, according to the size of your group. Some of the residences also feature kids’ clubs.

Entertainment is one of the key assets of La Plagne Montchavin les Coches and the programme is varied: yoga, water colour painting, circus school, sophrology, ice rink, adventure trail, sledge …

In summer, families can enjoy the fun Family Race, which also exists in a winter version, the Winter Family Race. And to relive the olden day festivities, come and celebrate with us on Saint Agatha's day (the village’s patron saint), with the blessing of the instructors and events in the mountain pastures: a day in Les Bauches valley in an exceptional and preserved mountain setting !

Surrounded by forests, La Plagne Montchavin les Coches is a paradise for nature lovers. In winter, you can try dog sledding when you are sure to be impressed as the pack takes you off for an adventure worthy of the Far North. 

If you are more contemplative, you may prefer to slow it down for a snowshoe walk on the marked trails, with or without a guide. You can discover Plan Bois plateau when you follow Les Frasses trail towards Plagne Bellecôte, on foot or cross-country skis.

In summer, there are lots of hikes to choose from. Don’t miss Pierres Blanches lake or the valley of Les Bauches with its lovely Alpine chalets on the banks of a gurgling stream.

At the end of the 1960s, when all the locals were moving away from the hamlet of Montchavin, Auguste Mudry, mayor of the commune of Bellentre (1947 - 1973), decided to transform the village into a ski resort. Architect Michel Bezançon and designer/developer Guy Champ were mandated to create the new residences. The village centre and its retail areas were renovated. The new buildings were constructed in traditional Savoyard style using wood and stone. The first apartments were sold in 1973.

Ten years later, the site of Les Coches was developed, with Bezançon agency once again in charge of the greenfield development. In 1981, the first building, Residence La Clef, was inaugurated at the resort’s opening.
