Winter Walks : Le Plateau de Plan Bois
An easy walk, either from Montchavin or Les Coches, with access via the telecabin. The view of Mont Blanc is fantastic. The forest is beautiful, and walking in winter is wonderful. The Plan Bois plateau is in the sunshine.

Itinerary from Montchavin
* Take the Coches gondola (free for pedestrians), then the Lac Noir gondola.
At the exit of the gondola, cross the Mont Blanc piste (blue) to find yourself in the Petits Loups beginners' area, which you skirt on the forest side. At the bottom of this carpet, you'll find the squirrel ski lift, which you'll cross. Take the wide groomer track down towards Chalet Chez Laurette and you're there.
Itinerary from Les Coches
* Take the Télébufette or shuttle bus, then the Lac Noir gondola.
As you leave the gondola, cross the Mont Blanc piste (blue) to find yourself in the Petits Loups beginners' area, which you skirt along the forest side. At the bottom of this carpet, you'll find the squirrel ski lift, which you'll cross. Take the wide groomer track down towards Chalet Chez Laurette and you're there.
This brings you to the magnificent Plan Bois plateau.
You can walk in this wide-open space and admire the Mont Blanc chain. It will take 20 minutes to walk up the plateau and back to the gondola to return to the resort.
