Between Bourg Saint Maurice and Aime, the Haute Tarentaise region is full of unsuspected places that bear witness to life in the past, all with exceptional panoramic views of the Vanoise massif.
Setting off from Bourg Saint Maurice, it's a beautiful, steady climb that awaits you to reach the highest point of the route at Les Chapelles. From here, a well-deserved break to admire the panorama of the Vanoise peaks and the world's greatest ski areas. Have you noticed the characteristic pyramid-shaped summit of the Pointe de l'Aliet? Then it's a continuous descent that will delight you as you pass through typical Tarin hamlets with beautiful homes, most of which have been renovated following the emergence of skiing. You'll also discover the vineyards of this high mountain region, which were so popular in the Middle Ages. After Aime and its Montmayeur tower, you're now on the valley floor, and a short stop at the Versants d'Aime lake will recharge your batteries before the final, easier part of the route, which this time allows you to admire the Beaufortain side of the slope.
