The 42nd edition of the European Heritage Days, to be held from 19 to 21 September 2025, will be highlighting architectural heritage in all its richness and diversity.
Champagny-en-Vanoise has put together a great programme for the European Heritage Days.
- Saint Sigismond Church
20 and 21/09 Open to the public from 2pm to 5.30pm.
Take advantage of the European Heritage Days to enter the beautiful baroque church of St Sigismund, one of the stops on the Baroque Trail!
- Sigismund and the dragon treasure hunt
20 and 21/09 from 2pm to 5.30pm in the church of St Sigismund.
A strange curse has struck the church and the priest himself seems possessed. Help Sigismund! Follow him and find out what is causing the disorder and bring peace back to the village! A treasure hunt to discover the church and the Place and Villard districts in a whole new way.
- Tour of the Chapels
20/09 from 4pm to 5.30pm.
A walk to celebrate the Heritage Days. The route will take visitors from Saint-Sigismond church to the Planay chapel, via the Crey chapel.
It's an opportunity to discover the character of each building, its remarkable features and to follow the projects being undertaken to preserve Champagny's little heritage treasures!
Registration required at Espace Glacialis +33 (0)4 79 01 40 28
- Espace Glacialis - Le Bois
21/09
Self-guided tour from 2pm to 5.30pm
Guided tour at 3pm (duration 30min)
Glacier views: an invitation to explore the Glacialis image gallery and see how glaciers are both tourist stars and climate alarm bellwethers. The visit ties in with 2025, the International Year of Glacier Preservation.
- Église Saint-Clair - Le Bois
21/09 from 2pm to 5.30pm
Exhibition by Camille Costa de Beauregard
Baroque Savoie is well known, but its ‘blessed’ churchmen less so. This year, Camille Costa de Beauregard from Chambéry was beatified. An exceptional life story, echoing that of Pope Innocent V, who, according to legend, was born in Champagny, and honoured both below and above the Gorges!
