Vacation villages and clubs: kings of entertainment and conviviality
For you, vacations are synonymous with meeting new people and sharing experiences? You'll love the friendly atmosphere that reigns in vacation villages and clubs! In no time at all, children are making friends for the week; solo travellers are meeting other mountain enthusiasts eager to progress or discover new disciplines; groups of friends are meeting other groups of friends for even more fun ...
The activity leaders at vacation clubs and villages deploy a wealth of creativity to entertain children and create bonds between holidaymakers, for a week or a lifetime.
Of course, the more timid might be tempted not to take part in the weekly activities... but they'd be missing out on some great encounters and anecdotes to tell when they get back to the office! Do you fall into this rather introverted category? Take a look at the week's entertainment program as soon as you arrive, and let your curiosity get the better of you by attending a games night or a dance party.
Village vacances VVF, Miléade, MMV, Club Med, UCPA... How to choose your mountain vacation village?
La Plagne boasts a dozen vacation villages and clubs with a wide range of profiles. Here are a few characteristics to compare when choosing your accommodation:
- Location: do you prefer the village atmosphere of Montalbert or Montchavin-les-Coches? Or the hustle and bustle of high-altitude resorts like Plagne Centre? Knowing that you'll have easy access to the lifts in La Plagne and the linked Paradiski area, whichever village you choose.
- Club spirit: each vacation village has its own trademark. VVF vacation villages, for example, are known for their affordable rates and family atmosphere, while UCPA will appeal to sports enthusiasts looking for an active vacation. What do you expect from your mountain holiday?
- Type of accommodation: do you prefer to spend your skiing vacation in a fully-equipped apartment (with kitchen) or in a hotel room? What level of comfort are you looking for? Three-star? Four-star?
- Ski services: do you need to rent equipment or book lessons? If so, you'll probably prefer a vacation village with an on-site sports store and a starting point for ski and snowboard lessons close to the residence.
- Children's services: Are you taking the family on holiday? Do you prefer to spend as much time as possible with your little tribe, or do you need childcare on certain days of the week? Some vacation villages offer day-care services, entertainment for children and teenagers, a toy library...
- Catering: do you prefer to eat all your meals "at home"? Or are you a fan of hearty hotel breakfasts and restaurants that let you leave the stove behind and just put your feet under the table? Some vacation villages offer half-board, full-board or all-inclusive packages, which are practical for sparing you the mental burden of meals.
- Activities: are you planning to ski all week? Or would you like to take part in activities organized by the club's entertainers with other holidaymakers?
- Wellness area: essential or superfluous?

By the way... who has the right to book a VVF vacation?
The acronym VVF is misleading: while it does stand for "Villages Vacances Familles", it's not actually reserved for families with children. Founded in 1958, VVF's original aim was to provide access to quality vacations for all families, while helping to develop rural areas through tourism. But today, anyone can book a summer or winter vacation in a VVF vacation village: families with children, of course, but also groups of adults, couples, solo travelers and more. Club Montalbert La Plagne, for example, offers 93 rooms for 2 to 6 people, while Résidence de vacances VVF Plagne 1800 has 42 apartments for 4 to 9 people, and Résidence VVF La Plagne Montchavin Paradiski has 100 apartments for 4 to 8 people.
There's noneed to show any kind of proof when you book your vacation in a VVF vacation village (you'll never be asked if you benefit from any financial aid schemes, for example). VVF rates are affordable for everyone, summer and winter alike, and additional promotional codes are regularly posted on the VVF website (Easter vacations etc.).
How do I book a VVF vacation?
The easiest and cheapest way is to book your vacation directly on the official VVF website (Club Montalbert La Plagne, Résidence VVF Plagne 1800 or Résidence VVF La Plagne Montchavin Paradiski). We remind you that you don't need to present any supporting documents when choosing your vacation rental (no family record book, no proof of income or financial aid, etc.).
A good idea if you're flexible about the dates of your stay? Compare rates over several periods. Traditionally, ski vacations are more expensive during the Christmas and winter vacations, and more affordable in January, March and April (as well as in summer).
Payment methods accepted on the VVF website include credit card and bank transfer, of course, but also paper or Connect ANCV vacation vouchers (you can pay for all or part of your vacation in vacation vouchers), gift vouchers and cards, or three or four times free of charge with Oney Bank.
