Hiking in Italy. Starting at the Petit Saint Bernard Pass, a well-maintained trail leads upward through magnificent meadows that gradually give way to a more rocky landscape. The lake comes into view amid vast grassy areas.
Practical Information:
* Hiking time: 3 hours uphill / 2 hours back
* Elevation gain: approximately 550m
* Difficulty: hiking on trails; a bit of a long hike but no particular difficulties
* Recommended for ages 10 and up
* Hiking boots required
* Pack a picnic and water
Clothing: fleece, windbreaker,
* Departure by private car to the Col du Petit Saint Bernard (60 min)
* Meeting point: Montchavin Municipal Police Station
