The big end-of-season party for skiers and snowboarders!
La Plagne - April 5, 2026
(reconnaissance on April 4)
Revisit the fun areas of the La Plagne ski area: the Funslope, the Riders Nation boardercross or the Fornelet obstacle course specially set up for the occasion.
Ride, ride, share! Solo or in a team, sign up for one of two race formats to choose from (S or XL).
1 RACE, 2 FORMATS
Two race formats to choose from (S or XL) so you can take part with all the riders in your heart ❤️
From age 7 (blue track level) - Limited number of places: 800 race numbers and not one more!
🔥 Format S: for chill riders with nothing to prove
- 3 mega-cool events: an obstacle course (reserved for the S format), a "little" tour of the funslope (the longest in Europe, after all...) and a waterslide (to plouf or not to plouf? That is the question!
- Ages 7 and up, minimum blue run level (it's a blast!)
- Ideal for a family race, for fun between skiers and snowboarders of different levels, or simply to have time to continue riding in the afternoon, once you've crossed the finish line (and eaten your burger by The Roster).
- Departure on April 5, 2026, at any time you like* (but we'd advise you to start at 9:30 a.m. to finish just when you're feeling peckish).
🔥🔥🔥 The XL format: for racers with solid thighs
- 5 really fun courses: 2 races shared with the S format (but a more difficult version, of course) + 3 additional courses where you can really set yourself apart from your rivals (a giant slalom and two pretty demanding boarder crosses!)
- Minimum age 12, minimum ski level black run (it's going to be tough!)
- Ideal for some fierce competition with your buddies, for an outstanding inter-generational challenge or just to explore every corner of the ski area in an original and very colourful way
- The race is on 19 April 2025 at whatever time you want* (but we recommend you set off at 9.30am at the latest so that you finish before you get too hungry…)
Les épreuves de la Mega Bell Course
The Mega Bell Course is a race with a time given over 3 different courses for the‘S’ format (the easier version: red run level, min. age 8) and five different courses for the ‘XL’ format (the more difficult version: black run level, min. age 12).
The times for the different courses are added together over the event (the time to get from one course to the next does not count). The aim is to get the fastest total time! To spice things up, seconds may be added on or taken off on some of the courses 🤫
There is no mass start: you start when you want (from 9am) and where you want! Plagne Centre, Aime 2000, Plagne Villages, Plagne Soleil, Belle Plagne, Plagne 1800, Plagne Bellecôte, Montchavin – Les Coches, Montalbert or Champagny-en-Vanoise, depending on where you are staying (or which car park you have parked in if you are in La Plagne just for the day).
We do recommend that you get going by 9.30am at the latest for both formats, S and XL, if you want to be sure of finishing before the time limit of 3pm on the dot!
Format S events
Do them in any order you like, depending on the start you choose and your strategy.
The only constraint is that you must finish with the Le Grand Bain event (common to the XL format), which is close to the finish line (Plagne Centre snow front).
The Mega Warrior
🏁 What is it? An obstacle course (with and without skis). You'll have to aim for the bull's-eye, pump up your biceps, face the void (or play G.I. Joe by crawling under a net if stunts really aren't your thing - but if an 8-year-old can do it, so can you, right?). In short: show that you're a po-ly-va-lent rider!
😎 How do you dead it? A lucky charm might help save a few seconds here and there (especially there).
📍 Where does it happen? At Fornelet, at the top of the Montalbert gondola (Montalbert sector)
All the way up
🏁 What is it? A descent on the Funslope, Europe's longest fun run! On the program: woops, banked turns, small jumps... All in all, nothing too complicated (except that the course is 1750 meters long!).
😎 How do you dead-end it? Chance will determine your starting point. With a bit of luck, you'll start from "Up there" (and not from "Down there"...).
📍 Where does it happen? Direction Plagne Bellecôte. At the top of the Arpette chairlift
Le Grand Bain
🏁 What is it? A giant slalom... somewhat "crowded" (two different routes depending on the S or XL format), and a waterslide at the finish!
😎 How do you dead it? Being buddies with Léon Marchand might help...
📍 Where does it take place? On the Jean-Luc Crétier stadium (Plagne Centre sector)
💡Good to know: the Le Grand Bain event will be the last event for everyone, just before crossing the finish line on the Plagne Centre snow front.
The 3 courses specific to the XL format
To do in any order depending on your chosen starting point and your strategy. You can even alternate the courses that are just for the XL format with the 2 that are in common with the S format if you feel like it!
The only requirement is that you must end with ‘Le Grand Bain’ (for both formats) which is close to the finish line (bottom of the slopes in Plagne Centre).
Tout là-haut
🏁 What is it? A descent on Europe’s longest Funslope! On the programme: whoops, raised bends, small jumps… In short, nothing too complicated (apart from the run being 1750 metres long!).
😎 How do we nail it? Your starting point will be a matter of chance but with a bit of luck, you will start from ‘right up there’ (not from ‘right down there’...)
📍 Where is it? Head to Plagne Bellecôte and take the Arpette chairlift
📅 When can we practise? The ‘Tout là-haut’ course will be open to all on Thursday, 17 April 2025, 10am to 3pm, if you want to give your thigh muscles a workout before the big day.
Le Grand Bain
🏁 What is it? A giant slalom… with a few ‘obstacles’ (two different courses: xxx m and x gates for the S format; xxx m and x gates for the XL format) and a waterslide to finish!
😎 How do we nail it? Having Léon Marchand as a friend might help…
📍 Where is it? On the Jean-Luc Crétier slalom field (in Plagne Centre)
📅 When can we practise? No training session for this one: you have to rely on your talent! Le Grand Bain is the only ‘surprise’ course of the Mega Bell Course 😉 but, if you don’t mind spoilers, you can get a preview of it from Bécoin chairlift…
💡Good to know: Le Grand Bain will be the last course for everyone, just before crossing the finish line at the bottom of the slopes in Plagne Centre!
C’est d’la balle
🏁 What is it? Imagine a combination of a boarder cross (with all the usual whoops and banked turns) and a ball pool. Voilà!
😎 How do we nail it? It’s better to look up than down…
📍 Where is it? In the Riders Nation freestyle park (in the Montchavin – Les Coches sector)
📅 When can we practise? ‘C’est d’la balle’ will be open to all on Monday, 14 April 2025, 10am to 3pm. Don't forget your helmet…
Here we go !
🏁 What is it? A giant slalom. Which might be more giant than planned if you get an unlucky roll of the dice…
😎 How do we nail it? Being good at Mario Kart could be an advantage (or not)
📍 Where is it? On the YUGE slalom at the top of Le Golf chairlift (Plagne Aime 2000)
📅 When can we practise? ‘Here We Go’ will be open to Mario, Bowser and Peach only on Wednesday, 16 April 2025, 10am to 3pm. Oh go on then… you can have a go too. But only if you behave!
C’est boarder…
🏁 What is it? A boarder(cross) with a twist. Especially at the start. Let’s just say that getting your skis on might (will) take some time, but once you are on your skis, you will be powering through the (very) raised bends on the course. Watch out you don’t get a speeding ticket…
😎 How do we nail it? Having a slight squint might stop you from completely hallucinating.
📍 Where is it? On La Rossa boarder cross (Champagny-en-Vanoise sector)
📅 When can we practise? ‘C’est boarder’ will be open to all on Tuesday,15 April 2025, 10am to 3pm.
Are you a gambler? Let's play... 😉
Feeling lucky? We've got two extra optional spots where you can gain seconds... or lose them! It's up to you 👀
Do you still have some juice left once you've crossed the finish line? Think you can improve your time on the Le Grand Bain event? We've got a little "Double or Quits" for you. How does it work? You retry the slalom + water-slide sequence. If your second time is better, we'll take it instead of the first. If your time is worse... we double it! 😈 So, who's getting wet? ☝️
🎁 Mega prizes to win
