Over the summer, come and see the "Adaptabilis – Une planète habitable pour le vivant" exhibition by Laurence Piaget-DuBuis & Hervé Savioz at the Château Montmayeur
With CAUE 74
The Adaptabilis exhibition by eco-artist Laurence Piaget-Dubuis
and architect and urban planner Hervé Savioz invites us to question the habitability of our region in the face of climate issues and the retreat of the glaciers. Through an immersive photo installation, the Swiss pair, with their awareness of the Alpine environment, open the negotiations on how to adapt, adjust and agree on new ways for human and non-human beings to live together and co-write the stories of a shared future.
The circular installation consists of seven spaces the public can enter. These become the backdrop for photos that question the habitability or non-habitability of the Alpine region. Along the way, the duo invite the public to move into the centre of the installation and activate the "negotiating table" on which they see the composition of the earth's surface, the life support for human and non-human living species. Around this table, using a list of common values, the public can write stories of an inclusive society, a regenerative economy and an environment where all living things coexist.
