The keep was initially built as a tower protected by an enclosure. The tower was altered in the 15th century and became the home of the Montmayeur lords.
Do not miss:
Models, drawings and sound recordings on 3 floors of the tower that reveal the secrets of the valley's traditional buildings, from the village houses to the mountain chalets.
In the cellar, you can find out about wine making in the Middle Ages, the vineyards in Savoie (you can try tasting 'hypocras' to take you right back through the ages) and the tools used to work the land.
In the main building, there is a reconstruction of a scene from medieval life.
You can try to translate a medieval text.
Audiovisual screen showing the ‘Shared Kingdom’ documentary by Pascal Bellemin-Bertaz and Didier Bouillot (versions in French and Italian).
