Walk up on this beautiful path located in Champagny le Haut taking you on the southern side of the small valley, in the grassy slopes up to the alpine chalet of Lécheron. Amazing view guaranteed!
Starting point: Champagny Le Haut, car park in the hamlet Le Bois
Arrival: idem
Duration: 2:45 hrs (1:45 uphill)

From the car park Le Bois (near the refuge), go across the road heading to the hamlet and running alongside the church (sign "Lécheron/Boucle de l'Adret/Les Teppes"). At the crossroads (take a look on the house's front "Le Plancher des vaches"), turn right towards the meadows. Instead of taking the trail called "Promenade confort", turn left towards Lécheron. The path starts and climbs up above the village.

First, the path weaves through the woods and then above, between the boulders on the grassy slopes heading to the Lécheron alpine chalet (alt. 2094 m). There lives from the end of June to the beginning of September a farmer with her herd of goats and a few cows. She makes her own cheese up there and you can even buy some ("tomme").

You can keep climbing above Lécheron to get to the mountain pasture called "Froide Fontaine" and if you feel like it, up to the ridge called "Passage de Frête" (alt. 2522 m). It will take 1:30 hour to reach it. Extra drop: +430 m.

Descent: by the same trail.

Trail to Lécheron: blue level (moderately difficult).
Trail from Lécheron to Passage de la Frête: red level (difficult).
