Hiking trail: Lac des Pierres Blanches starting from Plan Bois

A lovely cool, peaceful walk through the forest where you can pick blueberries and mushrooms according to the season, and see animals before arriving at Lac des Pierres Blanches where you can enjoy the superb view of our beautiful valley whilst picnicking by the side of the lake.

Starting from the top of Plan Bois chairlift

1/ From the top of Plan Bois chairlift, turn left (P) and go under Lac Noir gondola cable and follow the path along the mountainside before coming onto a forest track (P).
2/ Walk up to the right to reach a level section.
3/ follow the flat forest track to a junction (P).
4/ Turn right and follow the track across a ski run, carrying on for about 1 km.
5/ Leave the forest track (P) and take a path that climbs to the right and comes out onto a small plateau (P). The path then goes off to the left and crosses the whole of the plateau.
6/ The path is not always very clear, but soon comes into view again before a short climb up to a meadow (P).
7/ A path of white stones runs alongside you on the right and climbs up to a small road (P).
8/ Turn right and walk between a large chalet and the top of the chairlift.
9/ A path to the right (P) takes you to the lake in just 50 m.

Take the same route back, it will take about the same time. If you took Plan Bois chairlift up, remember to ask what time it closes and make sure you leave enough time to get back.
