Hiking trail: Nature Trail

Hikers, you are going to follow a trail that goes through an environment where man has intervened in different ways resulting in an alternance of developed sites and forests. There are 9 information boards on different themes along the way:
* Les Bâches stream: controlling erosion
* the reach where the flow of free water is controlled
* silviculture or the art of cultivating the forest
* the sentinels of the forest
* panorama: the mountains that surround us
* a brief history of the resort
* the evolution of the landscape
* trees in the mountains
* the boundaries of the forest

Starting from Montchavin
1/ Leave from Place de l'Etoile in Montchavin and walk up behind the washing trough.
2/ At the top of the village (P), turn off to the right and walk alongside the buildings until you reach a wide path (P). Go up this path and then turn off to the right (P), cross the road and carry in a westerly direction on a good path (several information panels). The path gets wider, going gradually uphill to a large junction (P).
3/ Turn left here and carry on along the wide path to a chalet. Go round the chalet and continue to Les Coches (P).
4/ Return to Montchavin via the small tunnel (information panel). Once under the chairlift cable, turn left to go down to the village.

Starting from Les Coches
1/ When you leave from Les Coches, take the path opposite the Intersport shop (P). Go right until you come to a chalet, walk around it before entering the forest. The path is very wide and comes to a junction (P),
2/ Turn right and carry on in an easterly direction (information panels) for 1 km, before turning right (P). The path crosses over the road and then carries on to the village of Montchavin.
