🚧 Following the landslide on the RN90 on Saturday 1 February, traffic in the Tarentaise is severely disrupted.
Despite the two-way opening of the Ponserand tunnel, traffic conditions in the area will remain poor.

👉 You will find below instructions and practical information for your arrivals and departures this weekend.

Date of update : 2025-02-04 - 5:45pm

Is La Plagne still accessible by car?

Yes, the Ponserand tunnel (upstream from Moûtiers) has been changed to two-way traffic on one lane to ensure access while the normal lane is being made safe. La Plagne is therefore accessible by car, but traffic conditions in the area will remain poor.

I have to leave La Plagne this weekend

🕐 Preferred timetable:

  • Modify your usual timetable as much as possible by anticipating or shifting your departure as much as possible to avoid rush hour.
  • Saturday looks set to be a black day, especially between 9am and 9pm in Moûtiers. Staggering departures and arrivals will help avoid saturation of the road network. Crossing Moûtiers before 9am is recommended.
  • Thursday evening or Friday morning should be quieter on the roads.

📋Prepare for longer journeys:

  • Make sure you have a minimum range when passing Aime-la-Plagne.
  • For long journeys, plan to book ‘stopover’ accommodation along the way whenever possible.
  • Before setting off, pack food and drink to ensure you have a minimum of autonomy, as well as warmth (blanket, duvet), something to keep you occupied and a mobile phone to recharge (external battery, etc.).

ℹ️ Keep informed:

  • Keep abreast of traffic conditions
  • ⚠️ Stay on the main routes and do not follow suggestions for alternative routes from GPS⚠️

❄️ Practical information:

  • Make sure you have special winter equipment (chains, snow tyres, socks).

🕐 Preferred timetable:

  • Modify your usual timetable as much as possible by anticipating or shifting your departure as much as possible to avoid peak times.

📋Anticipate the lengthening of your journeys :

  • Make sure you have a minimum range of 150 kilometres when passing Albertville.
  • Plan a meal for the first evening in case of a late arrival.
