When he was a child, Denis Verchère, a native of Plagne, used to make parachutes for his Playmobil figures. More than forty years later, he wears many hats: paraglider pilot, hang glider pilot, microlight pilot, helicopter pilot, glider pilot, and even more recently… commercial airline pilot!

This extraordinary journey has left us pondering: what if everyone did as Denis does? What if we tuned out the clamor of demands and limiting beliefs—and finally started listening to the soft but enthusiastic voice of our inner child? What would that be like? Probably less of a chill vacation… but a more exciting one! So listen up: he has a message for you…

“Remember when we wanted to be stunt performers? Now’s the time to try acrobatic paragliding!”

🎈 Your favorite game when you were a kid: acrobatics! You turned the family living room into a parkour course, much to the dismay of your parents, who watched helplessly as their beloved couch (turned into a trampoline) was destroyed and vases and fruit bowls (every time you accidentally snagged the tablecloth while slipping under the dining room table).

👀 The activity you have to try now that you’re all grown up: acrobatic paragliding! It’s similar to “classic” paragliding (a smooth takeoff with no sensation of falling, panoramic views of the ski area and iconic peaks); except that you’ll quickly feel like you’ve hopped on a carnival ride! Carving turns, spins in every direction… your pilot will take great delight in making you forget which way is up and which way is down 😉

Book an acrobatic paragliding flight with Denis Verchère (up to 120 kg).

“Remember when we wanted to be F1 drivers? Well, being a bobsled pilot sounds even better!”

🎈 Your favorite game when you were a kid: Hot Wheels! You collected the tracks and little cars, with a preference for the flame-decorated race cars that you’d send zooming at full speed through the loops of your colorful tracks with evocative names (“Cyclone,” “Infernal,” “Cascade,” etc.). In fact, you’re seriously considering getting a set for your youngest child for Christmas (he’s one year old—perfect, because you’ll be the one playing with it!).

👀 The activity you have to try now that you’re all grown up: bobsledding! Speed, centrifugal force, sharp turns… It’s got everything you need to experience what you used to “put your cars through” when you were a kid. So put on your helmet, hop aboard the “bob,” and let the pros take over. Or rather: THE pro—the professional pilot at the controls of this little speedster, streamlined like a mini-rocket, who’ll try to navigate it through 19 ice-covered banked turns up to its top speed (120 km/h!).

Book a bobsled ride on the Olympic track in La Plagne, the one and only bobsled track in France ( ages 16 and up).

“Remember when we wanted to be aerobatic pilots? How about we try the Super Tyro instead!”

🎈 Your favorite game when you were a kid: stretching strings from one end of your room to the other to slide your G.I. Joe along them (you did try hanging yourself from your grandma’s clothesline, but the operation was a mixed success: you still remember the humiliation you felt when you ended your ride in a whirlwind of big floral-print underwear…).

👀 The activity you have to try now that you’re all grown up: the Super Tyro! A giant 600-meter-long zip line stretching between Aime 2000 and Plagne Centre, offering a panoramic view of Mont Blanc… but above all, it lets you reach top speeds that would make your old action figures tremble (up to 90 km/h!). And you don’t need to be a stuntman like Tom Cruise: just let yourself glide—the team will be there with a smile to catch you at the finish.

Book a Super Tyro zipline ride ( for riders weighing 20 kg to 130 kg).

“Remember when we wanted to be human cannons? The Speed Luge is almost the same!”

🎈 Your favorite game when you were a kid: the circus! You’d put on endless shows at every family dinner—clown acts, spectacular acrobatics, and even tiger training included (your cat still remembers it…). Your only regret? Never managing to build a cannon to launch yourself into the air, just like in your favorite cartoons.

👀 The activity you have to try now that you’re all grown up: Speed Luge! How does it work ? You climb aboard a large, streamlined sled (nothing like those little recreational sleds) in a semi-reclined position—it’s self-guided and self-braking. And off you go on a high-speed descent down France’s one and only bobsled track: 19 completely icy banked turns, and a top speed of up to 90 km/h (even faster than a human cannonball!).

Book a Speed-luge run ( ages 16 and up).
