Luca Bossaglia concert

The concert takes its name from a German word meaning ‘hall of wonders’. In the 16th century, a number of wealthy European families began collecting, not in the systematic way that would later become the encyclopaedic cataloguing of the Enlightenment, but driven by the desire to own objects that would arouse wonder, exotic animal skeletons, stuffed exotic birds, shells from faraway seas, crystals, multicoloured butterflies, relics of past civilisations that were then placed in ‘wonder rooms’. These were the precursors of today's museums. Inspired by this non-systematicity, we have composed different pieces of music ranging from medieval ballads to fanfare for the court of the Sun King, from gypsy music to jazz, from flamenco to baroque music, from pop to rock in a symphonic key... various musical genres tracing the history of music from the 13th century to the present day. On a recorded basis with the symphony orchestra (40 instrumentalists + 25 backing singers), we play piano, keyboards, synthesizers and guitars live.
