The Laisonnay is made up of two hamlets, the Bas and the Haut, 400 metres apart.
Le Laisonnay is the most remote and oldest hamlet. It was here that the first inhabitants (from the Haute-Tarentaise) who crossed the Col du Palet to settle in the valley settled. It has about ten stone buildings with traditional roofs (lauzes (stone) and tavaillons (wood)) and more recent materials. The houses are grouped together to make use of the rare sites that are not exposed to natural risks (avalanches, boulder falls, overflowing of the Doron river).
