An easy route on a good path with information boards about the mountain environment. Mainly in the forest, with lovely panoramic views of the Beaufortain massif and Mont Blanc.
Start Plan Bois "Chez Laurette
1/ The start of the route is at the end of the tarmac road. An information panel describes the route and its contents.
2/ From the sign, pass behind the EDF block and continue to the right.
3/ Then join the dirt road to Les Frasses.
4/ After crossing the stream, fork left and follow the path upwards around a few bends. The forest becomes lighter.
5/ At a crossroads, turn left, cross the stream again, which is usually just a trickle, and reach the chalets de la Follie.
6/ Follow the path downhill, then sharply right to reach the Plan Bois plateau.
7/ Go downhill to the left to find the start in 5 minutes.
Access by road to Plan Bois or Lac Noir gondola in summer.
