Bellecôte - Cavard - Dou du Praz walk

At Plagne Bellecôte, go down to the level of the outdoor car park and cross the road (opposite the EDF transformer). Take the path to your left that follows the stream. This takes you to the clearing of Cavard (ideal for a picnic by the stream). Walk over the footbridges that takes you to the left bank of the stream. Walk up along the path towards Plagne 1800 (passes above the Bobsleigh track and Crête Côte village). At the car park at the bottom of Plagne 1800, cross the road and walk up past the resort leaving the buildings to your left until you come to Residence Edelweiss. From there, take the footpath that goes through the chalets to the biomass heating plant. At Plagne Centre, cross the road, the path starts again to the left of the petrol station. Walk up alongside the sand quarry towards Dou du Praz Plateau. (You can take the fork towards Plagne Soleil). On the plateau you will find an orientation table, picnic tables and a wonderful view of Mont Blanc.

Cross the plateau and join the footpath again to go down towards Plagne Bellecôte.

Advice: follow the path rather than taking any shortcuts, to prevent erosion.

Variant : When you come to the clearing of Cavard, you can continue down to the Pont de l’Arc and the top of the Bobsleigh track. You can visit the Bobsleigh track every day during the summer season and walk down through the track. The descent takes about 40 minutes with photos along the way. You can use the Pass Plagne bus to get back up (timetable available).

Départ en contre bas du transformateur EDF.
1/ Prendre le sentier carrossable en face.
2/ Continuer sur le sentier sur la gauche le long du ruisseau.
3/ arrivée à la clairière de Cavard.
4/ traverser le pont
5/ prendre l'itinéraire en direction de Plagne 1800.
6/ arrivée sur le parking des Mines à Plagne 1800.
7/ traverser la route pour remonter dans le village de Plagne 1800.
8/ Après la résidence Edelweiss, prendre la route carrossable sur la droite
9/ Monter jusqu'à la chaufferie Biomasse de Plagne Centre.
10/ traverser la route.
11/ emprunter le sentier à côté de la station service.
12/ suivre le sentier jusqu'au plateau du Du du Praz.
13/ prendre le sentier sur la gauche.
14/ rejoindre le sentier qui redescend sur Plagne Bellecôte
15/ Arrivée à Plagne Bellecôte au dessus du télésiège des Colosses
