Route
In Belle Plagne, you start from the children's play area below the tennis courts.
Follow the path and then the dirt track going towards Dou du Praz plateau. The panoramic view of the Beaufortain range and Mont Blanc is superb. Follow the track as far as the Dou du Praz dairy where the famous Beaufort cheese is made (daily open in summer for sale of products). Continue along the route, passing the protected area of La Cembraie. At the end of the trail, you reach Lovatière reservoir which is used to make artificial snow. You then come to the main building of Plagne Aime 2000 (classified a 20th-century architectural heritage building).
Remarkable viewpoint
Looking across the valley, from left to right, you will see, among others, La Grande Parei, Pierra Menta, Les Aiguilles de la Nova, Mont Rosset and Mont Blanc. With your back to the valley, from right to left, marvel at Mont Jovet, the back of La Velière, Roc du Bécoin and Roc des Verdons. At Le Dou du Praz there is a 180° panoramic view, with orientation tables and picnic tables. Throughout the walk, you will discover beautiful mountain flowers and, hopefully, catch sight of marmots which can often be seen not far from the trail.
Return to Belle Plagne possible on the free inter-resort shuttle bus.
