Champagny en vanoise-refuge

You are already looking forward to hiking in the mountains, climbing to the peaks and looking out for marmots and ibex, but what about the rest of the family? Wipe that dubious pout off your children’s faces by suggesting entertaining walks. Here is our selection:

The Alpages Enchantés (Enchanted Meadows) in Plagne Montalbert

The mountains have their own tales and legends. Apart from the best-known snow monster, the Yeti, a host of other imaginary creatures live in the Alpine forests. A storyteller accompanies families on a 3 km circuit, telling stories that will enchant your little ones!
Practical info: 8€ / person, free for under 5s, further details from tourist offices

Montagne et coucher de soleil à La Plagne

A mountain of stories in Montchavin-les Coches

The snowy peaks awaken your wildest dreams! Mountaineers and travellers have left incredible tales behind them, giving real substance to the word “adventure”. Sitting comfortably on the grassy plateau at Plan Bois, or in a mountain hut if it’s raining, adults and children can enjoy hearing exceptional and thrilling stories. An Alpine tea is of course part of the experience.
Practical info: 10€ / adult, 6€ / children, further details from tourist offices

Randonnée en bord de lac à La Plagne

Torchlight tour of Champagny-en-Vanoise

At the entrance to the Vanoise National Park, in the classified valley of Champagny le Haut, a guide offers an evening torchlight tour. Forget head lamps and plunge into olden times as you carry your torch. Children will love this magical escapade through the streets of the villages and on the edge of the forest.
Practical info: 5€ / person, several visits are organized in August, further details and reservations in tourist offices
