La Plagne and PEUGEOT cycles have announced the launch of the "Super 8", an all-new mountain biking event for 2021.
Its distinctive features: original and adventurous event formats and the promise of exceptional courses developed, tested and approved by a team of experts and athletes from the field!

The first edition will have 2 events:

The “Grand8”: the main event, reserved for experts and the eMTB elite who will do a full tour of La Plagne over 2 days with 1 night in a bivouac near Champagny-en-Vanoise, starting and finishing in the valley. A total of 95 km and 5600 m elevation gain with technical climbs and enduro-type descents on mostly single tracks.
Limited to 50 riders selected on the basis of their sporting CV. Wildcards for a few elite riders.
Participants must have 2 batteries of minimum 500Wh capacity each. GPS obligatory.
2 classification categories: 500Wh battery and over 600Wh battery with a men’s / women’s ranking for each. Ranking per stage and overall ranking after the 2 days with prize money to win.
July 8th and 9th.

The “Double8”: the perfect race for amateurs with a succession of circuits of varying difficulty in the shape of a 4-leafed clover where participants can “stop or keep going”.
2 versions of this race: an individual MTB version (July 10th) and e-MTB solo or 2-person relay version (July 11th).
The base camp will be in Plagne Bellecôte, participants will set off on the 1st circuit and can prolong the fun according to their level of fitness and do further circuits, all with different points of interest and a wide range of landscapes from forests to the high mountain slopes.


Circuit 1 - Plagne-Montalbert sector – 23 km – 989m elev. gain - easy
Circuit 2 - Champagny-en-Vanoise sector – 24 km – 1139m elev. gain - medium
Circuit 3 - Montchavin-Les Coches sector – 22 km – 861m elev. gain - easy
Circuit 4 - Tour of Les Bourtes – 13 km – 699m elev. gain - difficult
Only participants who complete all 4 circuits for a total of 82km and 3588m elevation gain will be considered as finishers!


Solo e-MTB: Participants must have 2 batteries of 500Wh minimum each to be charged in rotation between each circuit. 2 classification categories: 500Wh battery and over 600Wh battery with a men’s and women’s ranking for each.

2-person relay e-MTB: the team must have 2 batteries of 500Wh minimum each to be charged in rotation between each circuit. 1 category without differentiation of battery size (minimum 500Wh). Change of rider after each completed circuit.
